Each school where an affected child attends will be informed of all Domestic Abuse incidents, not just those where an offence can be identified or those graded as high risk. The partnership recognises that all incidents of Domestic Abuse can be harmful to children and young people creating intolerable stress and are recognised as an adverse Childhood Experience (ACE). At present and because the school is often unaware of the events in their home they may not be offered the assistance, support and understanding needed to recover from what they have experienced.
