At St Thomas’s Centre, we provide a progressive Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme from primary through to Key Stage 4. Our aim is to help pupils understand themselves, explore the world of work and make informed and ambitious decisions about their education, training and future careers.

Our programme is designed to meet the individual needs of our pupils and supports the development of confidence, aspirations, employability skills and an understanding of the different pathways available after school.

Pupils have opportunities to explore different careers, understand how their learning and skills link to the world of work, meet employers and education and training providers, visit workplaces and take part in work experience and enterprise activities.

We also provide information and guidance on Post-16 options, including further education, apprenticeships, training and employment, alongside careers resources for pupils and parents.

Our Level 6 Careers Advisors, Chloe and Sonya work for New Directions, the Blackburn with Darwen Careers Service. They regularly visit school to provide individual careers guidance and support pupils with their future plans.
