Hello and Welcome to St Thomas's Centre
I am extremely proud and feel very privileged to be the Headteacher of St Thomas's Centre. This is a great school where great things happen.
We are a pupil referral unit located within Blackburn with Darwen Local Authority. St Thomas's provides both full and part-time education for up to 165 young people aged 5-16.
The pupils of St Thomas’s Centre all have additional social, emotional, or mental health learning needs. Some of the pupils also have additional SEND needs in other areas. Our pupils are aged 5- 16 and are taught over multiple sites in different provisions based on need.
My son started attending this school in September '23 following a medical referral. We were very apprehensive after bad experiences at previous secondary schools but wow, Thomas Centre is totally different. The Headteacher Ms Saaiman is in regular contact and has drawn up a timetable specifically for my son's needs which makes a huge difference. ALL the staff are amazing - understanding and kind and my son has settled well. Thank you so very much to The St Thomas Centre for all your help.

Thank you all at Thomas's for the way you have all treated our son. As we explained in the meeting it’s been an absolutely amazing school, you have shown him respect and he has shown you respect. We feel he has turned into a different person since being there, you helped him so, so much. Please all be so proud of yourselves for all the hard work you do. Sadly it is coming to an end for him now and he will return to his mainstream school but you will never be forgotten from any of his family . Thank you again for treating him normal and you all deserve all the luck in the world, a big shout out to you all ❤️♥️ xx
